MADRID, June 4 (Xinhua) -- The Spanish Ministry of Health, Consumer Affairs and Social Welfare on Thursday confirmed five new deaths from COVID-19, bringing the total fatalities to 27,133.
A total of 56 people lost their lives to the virus in the past seven days, said the ministry.
Thursday also saw a slight fall in the number of new COVID-19 cases. The Health Ministry reported 195 new infections, compared with 219 registered 24 hours earlier, taking the total to 240,660.
Among the new infection cases, 138 came from Madrid and Catalonia. Enditem
