TEHRAN, June 5 (Xinhua) -- Two Iranian female cyclists have been handed four-year doping bans by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), Tehran Times daily reported on Friday.

Maedeh Nazari and Fatemeh Hadavand tested positive at the 2018 Asian Track Championships in Malaysia.

The penalty was announced two years after their use of anabolic steroids during the track competition.

Nazari, 21, and Hadavand, 22, have both been given a four-year ban, with their suspension back-dated to the date the anti-doping rule violations were committed, which means they will be eligible to race again in 2022. Enditem
