TIRANA, June 6 (Xinhua) -- A first case of re-infection with COVID-19 was registered in Albania as the total number of infections in the country increased to 1,232, health authorities reported on Saturday.
A member of health personnel was infected with COVID-19 for the second time after nearly three months from the first infection and his health condition is stable, the ministry reported.
According to the health ministry, an 85-year-old woman from Tirana diagnosed with COVID-19 lost her life in the Infectious Diseases Hospital during the last 24 hours, raising the total number of fatalities to 34.
A total of 27 patients are currently hospitalized in the Infectious Diseases Hospital and six patients are in intensive care.
In the last 24 hours, Public Health Institute has conducted 253 tests and has confirmed 20 new positive coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 1,232.
With 15 recoveries registered in the last 24 hours, the number of the recovered reached 925 on Saturday.
Currently in Albania, according to health ministry, about 70 percent of the positive coronavirus cases are in the capital city of Tirana. Enditem
