WASHINGTON -- At least 28 U.S. states are not following U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines on reporting new COVID-19 cases, half of which saw the trend of new cases increasing in the last week, CNN reported on Tuesday.
Those states are not reporting probable cases, according to the daily case count listed on the CDC's website.

WASHINGTON -- A new study on survival of coronavirus in different cities and on different surfaces shows that temperature, humidity and surface affect drying time of COVID-19 virus respiratory droplets.
In the study published Tuesday in Physics of Fluids, researchers examined the drying time of respiratory droplets from COVID-19-infected subjects on various surfaces in six cities around the world, which are New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Sydney and Singapore.

HELSINKI -- The Finnish economy will contract sharply by around 7 percent in 2020, mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and a rapid recovery does not look very likely, announced the Bank of Finland (BOF) in its economic forecast published on Tuesday.
According to the forecast for the period 2020-2022, The Finnish economy will contract by 7 percent in 2020, and for 2021 and 2022, the growth forecast is about 3 percent annually.

NEW DELHI -- Indian capital New Delhi will have an estimated over-half-a-million COVID-19 cases by the end of July, and it might need around 80,000 beds for patients admitted in various hospitals, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia told media on Tuesday.
He also said that COVID-19 cases were doubling every 12 to 13 days in Delhi.

RIYADH -- Saudi Arabia registered on Tuesday 3,288 new coronavirus cases, with 1,099 in Riyadh alone, raising the total number in the kingdom to 108,571, the health ministry tweeted.
The Saudi capital has for weeks topped the list of the number of infections, followed by Jeddah for most of the time.
Meanwhile, the number of recoveries rose to 76,339 after 1,815 more were added, while 37 new fatalities were reported, bringing the death toll to 783.

BAGHDAD -- The Iraqi Health Ministry on Tuesday confirmed 787 new cases of COVID-19, raising the total number to 14,268 in the country.
The ministry said in a statement that 22 more people died from the coronavirus during the day, bringing the death toll to 392, while 5,831 patients have recovered. Enditem
