BISHKEK, June 16 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyzstan's ruling coalition on Tuesday nominated Kubatbek Boronov for the post of prime minister after his predecessor Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev resigned on Monday following allegations of corruption.

Speaking at the parliament, Boronov said that the new government would be "technical" and work until the formation of a new parliament.

He said his cabinet would focus efforts on tackling the spread of COVID-19 and preparing for the parliamentary election scheduled for Oct 4.

Boronov served as the first deputy prime minister in the previous cabinet and the minister of emergency situations prior to that. Enditem
