WARSAW, June 24 (Xinhua) -- Poland's gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to decline by 4.3 to 4.7 percent this year and the economy should rebound by 4 to 4.1 percent next year, Development Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz has said.

"We assume that the moderately optimistic scenario for Poland for this year will materialize and our economy will be least impacted by the pandemic," Emilewicz was quoted as saying by Polish Press Agency on Wednesday.

In her opinion, the economic situation in the country is improving. "The level of consumption in Poland -- when we looked at it last week -- is comparable to that of January this year," said the minister.

She also pointed out the "relatively good" level of optimism of investors and managers in Europe.

To date, Poland has a total of 32,821 COVID-19 infections, with 1,396 deaths, according to the daily update by the Health Ministry. Enditem
