Guangdong Southeast Tigers trounce Tianjin Pioneers in CBA

QINGDAO, China, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Ren Junfei collected 35 points and 11 rebounds, helping the Guangdong Southeast Tigers hammer Tianjin Pioneers 132-79 in the 2019-20 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) season on Friday.

Guangdong obtained a 28-15 lead at the end of the first quarter. Tianjin struggled to narrow the gap during the second quarter but saw Guangdong's lead grow to 30 points after a Sonny Weems' three-pointer before half time.

In the fourth quarter, Guangdong hit another 10-0 run to extend the lead to 50 points and sealed the victory.

Six Guangdong players scored double-digits. Sonny Weems devoted 20 points together with nine rebounds.

Center Shi Deshuai collected a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds for Tianjin while Meng Zikai added 14 points.

Guangdong has won four in a row with an average of 39.75 points lead since the 2020 CBA season resumed. Tianjin suffered a four-game losing streak.

On Sunday, Tianjin will take on the Jiangsu Dragons, and Guangdong will face the Fujian Sturgeons. Enditem
