PARIS, June 29 (Xinhua) -- French international Layvin Kurzawa has renewed his deal with Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain and will stay at the Parc des Princess until 2024, the club announced on Monday.
"Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce that Layvin Kurzawa has signed a four-year contract extension, with the 27-year-old French defender now tied to the capital club until 30 June 2024," read a statement from PSG.
Kurzawa, who will turn 28 in September, had been linked with Premier sides Chelsea and Arsenal, who are both seeking to strengthen their defenses this summer.
But after losing right-back Thomas Meunier, who is set to join German side Borussia Dortmund, and local talent Tanguy Kouassi, who is on the verge of a free transfer to Bayern Munich, the Ligue 1 giants have taken action to curb the outflow of their defenders.
Kurzawa arrived at Paris in 2015 from Monaco. The Frejus-born full-back has made 123 appearances in all competitions, scoring 13 goals and winning 14 trophies over the past five seasons with PSG.
He made his debut for the French national team in 2014 and has so far played in 13 games and scored one goal for Les Bleus.
PSG on Monday also announced that long-serving captain Thiago Silva has agreed to remain with the team until the end of this season, which means the Brazilian defender will represent the club in the French Cup and League Cup finals in late July, and the Champions League in August.
Cameroon striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico also extended their contracts with PSG until the end of the current season. Enditem
