DONGGUAN, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Gu Quan, Shen Zijie and Li Muhao combined for 60 points as the Shenzhen Aviators won 92-76 over the Sichuan Blue Whales in the 2019-20 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Wednesday afternoon.
Shenzhen jumped out early, while the duo of Gu and Shen combined for 19 points in the first period, helping Shenzhen carve out a stunning 29-10 start.
Sichuan recovered in the second, responding with an 8-0 run to pull within 11. However, five straight points from Shen from inside the paint gave Shenzhen the chance to rebuild a 46-31 lead into half-time.
Sichuan used another 8-0 spurt to close the gap within nine points before Li scored Shenzhen's next seven points, followed by Shen's putback, reversed the tide.
Sichuan never fought back in the fourth and Shenzhen closed out the win.
Li Yuanyu had a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds for Sichuan, while Shen got 18 points and 12 rebounds for Shenzhen.
Sichuan will play back-to-back games against the Beijing Royal Fighters on Thursday night, while Shenzhen have a short break before facing the Shandong Heroes on Saturday.
