SHANGHAI, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Beijing Guoan forward Jonathan Viera is expected to return to China from Spain on Friday.

Viera posted a photo of himself sitting on an aeroplane on social media, indicating his return to China ahead of the start of the delayed 2020 Chinese Super League season.

According to media reports, Viera will fly from Madrid to Paris and transfer to Shanghai, arriving on Friday afternoon in the eastern Chinese city.

In line with epidemic control measures, he will undergo a 14-day mandatory quarantine in Shanghai before joining up with his teammates.

Guoan's three other overseas players - Kim Min-jae, Renato Augusto and Fernando Lucas Martins - have obtained visas and are waiting for suitable flights in order to return to China.

The 2020 Chinese Super League will begin on July 25, the Chinese Football Association announced this week. Enditem
