BEIRUT, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon's number of COVID-19 infections increased on Friday by 34 cases to 1,830 while death toll remained unchanged at 35, the National News Agency reported.

Infections among citizens reached 15 while cases among arrivals stood at 19 during the past 24 hours.

Lebanon re-opened its airport on July 1 to receive Lebanese expats and tourists in hope to help the local economy and save it from total collapse.

Lebanon expects more infections in the coming days given the airport's re-opening and Health Minister Hamad Hassan had announced that Lebanon's public hospitals have the capacity of receiving more patients.

Lebanon has been fighting against COVID-19 since Feb. 21.

The country has received several donations from different countries for the fight.

The latest foreign support received by Lebanon for the fight was from China last month which offered 17,500 masks, 1,500 protective gears, 1,320 goggles and 1,000 shoes covers to Lebanese public hospitals. Enditem
