MANILA, July 4 (Xinhua) -- The number of the COVID-19 cases in the Philippines surged to 41,830 after the country's Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,494 new cases on Saturday.
The DOH said in its bulletin that the number of recoveries further rose to 11,453 after 380 more patients have survived the disease.
The death toll also increased to 1,290 after 10 more patients have succumbed to the viral disease, the DOH said.
The DOH further said that 12 overseas Filipino workers repatriated by the government have tested positive for the virus. Enditem
