JAKARTA, July 4 (Xinhua) -- COVID-19 cases in Indonesia rose by 1,447 within one day to 62,142, with the death toll adding by 53 to 3,089, Achmad Yurianto, a health ministry official, said at a press conference here on Saturday.
According to him, 651 more people had been discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 28,219.
Within the past 24 hours, five provinces, Jakarta, Central Java, East Java, Bali and South Sulawesi, recorded high numbers of cases, Yurianto said.
However, no more positive cases were found in six provinces, namely Aceh, Jambi, Lampung, West Kalimantan, North Kalimantan and East Nusa Tenggara.
Yurianto called on the public to obey the implemented health protocols in a bid to avoid more COVID-19 infections. Enditem
