Kyrgyzstan adds 283 new COVID-19 cases

BISHKEK, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyzstan on Sunday reported 283 new COVID-19 cases, bringing its total to 7,377, said a statement by the country's Republican Headquarters for the Prevention of the Spread of COVID-19.

All the new cases are contacts of confirmed patients, and 32 of them are medical workers, bringing the total number of infected medical workers to 1,097, including 500 recoveries, said the statement.

A total of 88 patients have been discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, taking the tally of recoveries in Kyrgyzstan to 2,802, it said.

There are currently 628 hospitalized cases, including 16 in the intensive care units, and 3,859 asymptomatic patients in home quarantine, it said.

It also confirmed 10 more deaths in the past 24 hours, raising the country's death toll to 88. Enditem
