MANILA, July 7 (Xinhua) -- A small airplane crash-landed into the sea off Zamboanga City in the southern Philippines on Tuesday morning, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.
CAAP Area Manager Antonio Alfonso said the chartered plane went down shortly after taking off from the Zamboanga airport at around 9:30 a.m. local time.
All the four people on board, including the two pilots, safely exited the plane, which was headed to Dumaguete City in Negros Oriental Province in the central Philippines.
Initial investigation showed that the plane's left engine malfunctioned, forcing the pilots to make a crash landing into the sea. Enditem
