CAIRO, July 7 (Xinhua) -- Arab League (AL) Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit on Monday voiced confidence that China-Arab cooperation will be lifted to a new level, according to an AL statement.

The 9th ministerial meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum, which was held on Monday via video link amid ongoing world challenges, reflects the keenness of China and the Arab states for further cooperation, the AL chief said.

Aboul-Gheit commended the coordination between China and the Arab countries in combatting the COVID-19 pandemic.

He valued China's supportive stance on Arab issues, topped by the Palestinian cause, and looked forward to more Chinese support for Palestinians' legitimate rights.

He also stressed the importance of reaching comprehensive political solutions to the crises in Syria, Yemen, and Libya.

During Monday's meeting, the two sides released a joint declaration on fighting COVID-19 with solidarity, the Amman declaration, and an action plan for the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum 2020-2022. Enditem
