BEIJING, July 7 (Xinhua) -- The number of nucleic acid testing facilities in Beijing has expanded to 184 from 98 in early June, and they have completed over 11 million tests since June 11, a local health official said Tuesday.

An epidemiological investigation was carried out immediately after the city reported a new COVID-19 case on June 11, targeting the Xinfadi market as the risk location within 22 hours of the outbreak, said Pang Xinghuo, deputy director of the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Beijing reported no new confirmed, domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases Monday. Pang, however, warned that a zero increase does not rule out the possibility of new cases in the coming week, as thousands are still under observation, including 31 asymptomatic cases.
