BEIJING, July 10 (Xinhua) -- An annual city forum of Shanghai and Taipei will be held on July 22 via video link, Zhu Fenglian, spokeswoman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said Friday.
Over the years, Shanghai and Taipei have had exchanges and cooperated in urban construction and governance, and reached consensus in many areas, enhancing the well-being of and the mutual understanding among people in the two cities, Zhu said.
Promoting exchanges and cooperation between cities on both sides of the Taiwan Strait along the right track is conducive to enhancing the well-being of the people on both sides and sharing the dividends of mutually beneficial cooperation, she said.
The two cities have taken turns to organize the Shanghai-Taipei forum since 2010. Enditem
