Heavy rain-triggered flooding has inundated a middle school in Tongling City, east China's Anhui Province. To ensure no students stranded in the school, a traffic police officer swam through the one-meter deep flooding. Since June, continuous downpours have lashed large parts of southern China, and the waters of many rivers in the affected regions exceeded warning levels. China's national observatory on Friday renewed its yellow alert for rainstorms, as incessant downpours continued to wreak havoc across vast stretches of the country.
