BEIJING, July 13 (Xinhua) -- A collection of books documenting the Japanese invasion of China has been published by the Zhonghua Book Company.

The books consist of 20 volumes of archive materials on subjects such as the "Sept. 18 Incident," which marked the start of Japan's invasion of China, and the Nanjing Massacre.

The compilation is based on a wide range of historical materials, including documents, agreements, pieces of intelligence, letters, and court trial records that help reveal the facts of the aggression and the atrocities committed by Japan between 1931 and 1945.

The materials were gathered from major archives in the country, and most of them had not been made public.

Over 50 people took part in the compilation of the 12-million-character collection, which took 37 years to complete. Enditem
