The partnership would enable both Siemens and SAP to develop the "first truly integrated and enhanced solutions" for product lifecycle management, supply chain, service and asset management.

BERLIN, July 14 (Xinhua) -- German technology giant Siemens and software corporation SAP announced on Tuesday to form a partnership to combine the companies' technologies and jointly accelerate industrial digital transformation.

"Digital transformation will be critical for the manufacturing industries to increase productivity, flexibility and accelerate innovation," said Klaus Helmrich, member of the managing board of Siemens.

The partnership would enable both Siemens and SAP to develop the "first truly integrated and enhanced solutions" for product lifecycle management (PLM), supply chain, service and asset management.

"Bringing together expertise from SAP and Siemens to offer Industry 4.0-enabled business processes allows enterprises to create a digital thread for the entire product and asset lifecycle," said Thomas Saueressig, member of the executive board of SAP.

With the new partnership, SAP would start marketing the Teamcenter software by Siemens. In return, Siemens would include SAP Intelligent Asset Management and the SAP Portfolio and Project Management to its portfolio.
