WINDHOEK, July 18 (Xinhua) -- The Namibia Football Association (NFA) on Saturday suspended the Namibia Premier League (NPL) from its status as an affiliate member of the Namibian soccer governing body.

NFA president Ranga Haikali said the decision was taken after the two parties failed to find an amicable solution to the raging boardroom squabbles between the two institutions.

"A decision was taken to suspend the NPL from NFA today, and we will go ahead and engage independent clubs for them to decide whether they would like to continue playing football under the NFA or not," Haikali said.

Haikali said they will give the NPL an opportunity to find remedies or recourse to challenge the decision if they wish. Enditem
