BEIJING, July 20 (Xinhua) -- A brainstorming session for members of the chairpersons' council of China's top political advisory body was held Monday to discuss formulating the rules of consultation.

Wang Yang, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.

The principles, contents, forms, and procedures of the CPPCC's consultative work were also discussed, among other topics.

Applauding the achievements in the institutional construction of the CPPCC, the political advisors called for strengthening the awareness of consultation, and improving consultation capability and effectiveness.

Noting that a wider range of topics should be covered, the advisors called for increasing the proportion of culture and ecology-related topics while continuing to focus on economic and social progress and people's wellbeing.

They pointed out that various forms of consultation, including online consultations, should be promoted. Enditem
