DALIAN, China, July 23 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese Super League (CSL) has taken precautionary guidelines for food safety after new cases of COVID-19 were discovered in Dalian.

Dalian reported two more confirmed cases of COVID-19 and another 12 asymptomatic cases on Thursday, but Dalian's municipal government confirmed that the CSL's season opener will be held as planned.

According to the guidelines, the food material must provide a test report and the invoice for tracing the source. All the staff are required to provide health certificates and working experiences in tournaments such as the Olympic Games and China's National Games. Every dish is asked to take a reserve sample in case of an emergency test.

The CSL organizers have already ensured the storing food materials is not from the market related to the new cases of COVID-19.

All results from the pre-season COVID-19 tests for CSL players turned out to be negative.

The season opener on Saturday in Dalian will see defending champions Guangzhou Evergrande against the Chinese Football Association (CFA) Cup 2019 winners Shanghai Greenland Shenhua. Enditem
