JAKARTA, July 24 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) has proposed seven additional sports branches to be played during the forthcoming 2021 SEA Games in Vietnam, a KOI official revealed on Friday.
The proposal was delivered during the virtual meeting of the Southeast Asian Games Federation (SEAGF) from July 21 to 22, discussing the number of sports branches to be staged during the regional sports event, local media reported on Friday.
"Indonesia put forward seven sports for consideration during the meeting," KOI's Vice Secretary-General Wijaya Noeradi said.
The organizing committee of the 2021 SEA Games has proposed 36 sports to be featured during the international sports event.
The seven sports branches proposed by Indonesia include triathlon, bowling, eSport, sambo, modern pentathlon, jujitsu and teqball.
The number of sports to be contested during the Games, he said, will be officially announced 12 months before the start of the sports event scheduled to be held from November 21 to December 2 next year. Enditem
