2 injured after army helicopter makes hard landing in S. Afghanistan

LASHKAR GAH, Afghanistan, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Two Afghan army personnel were wounded after a military helicopter made a hard landing in Afghanistan's southern Helmand province on Monday, a provincial source confirmed.

"The incident occurred in Kajaki district early in the morning. An investigation has been launched into the incident and details will be shared with the media later Monday," Omar Zwak, provincial government spokesman, told Xinhua.

None of the injured suffered life-threatening wounds and were transported to an army camp, he said.

Local villagers claimed that the chopper was struck by a Taliban weapon.
