BEIJING, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Martyrs' relatives holding memorial ceremonies in provinces other than their place of residence can have their accommodation and transportation expenses paid by the government, according to a recently-issued guideline.

Relatives who plan to travel to other provinces to pay respect to martyrs at their graves, cinerariums or memorials can apply at local veteran affairs departments and have relevant departments arrange their trips, says the guideline jointly issued by five departments including the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.

In addition to having their accommodation and transportation expenses reimbursed, martyrs' relatives also enjoy priority when purchasing air, railway and ship tickets, according to the guideline.

The guideline also encourages people to mark the occasion on the internet or near their home or ask others to observe the ritual for them. Enditem
