BEIRUT, July 27 (Xinhua) -- Hezbollah attacked an Israeli target in the disputed Shebaa Farms on Monday, leading to heavy clashes in southern Lebanon, LBCI local TV channel reported.
Hezbollah launched a rocket targeting an Israeli tank, leading to an exchange of fire in the Shebaa Farms, a disputed land strip at the intersection of the Lebanese-Syrian border and the Israel-occupied Golan Heights.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces launched a rocket in Al Habariye, southern Lebanon, damaging a local house.
Tensions along Israel's borders with Lebanon and Syria have been on the rise since a fighter with Hezbollah was killed in an apparent Israeli airstrike in Syria last week.
Israel's army said Monday it had closed all roads in the north and instructed residents to immediately leave open spaces and remain indoors amidst a "security incident" along Israel-Lebanon border. Enditem
