SAN SALVADOR, July 28 (Xinhua) -- El Salvador registered 405 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking its total to 15,035, the country's health ministry said Monday.
The novel coronavirus has resulted in the deaths of 417 people since the first case was confirmed in the Central American country on March 18.
At least 7,827 people have recovered from the disease, the ministry said.
Due to a sharp increase in new COVID-19 cases since early July, the government has suspended economic reopening to contain the spread of the virus. Enditem
