TRIPOLI, July 29 (Xinhua) -- The Libyan government will hold accountable all senior officials for financial and administrative corruption, said Fathi Bashagha, interior minister of the UN-backed government, on Tuesday.
"Security cannot be achieved without the rights of the people and their services of electricity and healthcare, as the corruption spreads in the country," Bashagha told a press conference in the capital Tripoli.
"In cooperation with the attorney general's office, we will begin to hold senior officials of the state accountable (for corruption)," the minister said.
An electronic system has been developed to help capture wanted persons, said Bashagha, adding that a mobile phone application has been made to help report criminals. Enditem
