China's Sichuan sets up first wolf protection station

CHENGDU, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Southwest China's Sichuan Province has established its first wolf protection and monitoring station at the Zogye wetland nature reserve.

The station will focus on the monitoring of wolf packs as well as scientific research and education related to wolves.

The Sichuan wolves mainly inhabit the forest and grassland areas in west Sichuan, especially in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture and Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.

The Zogye wetland nature reserve, with an area of over 166,570 hectares, is home to about 200 Sichuan wolves and 251 species of wild animals. Enditem
