OUAGADOUGOU, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- At least six young herders were killed and four injured on Saturday in a blast of an improvised explosive device in northern Burkina Faso, sources told Xinhua on Sunday.
The tragedy occured in the village of Bembela, in the Tangaye municipality of the nothern Yatenga province in the country.
"Boys watching herds of their parents stepped on improvised explosive device. In all, six died and four were injured," a local official told Xinhua.
Hospital corroborative source underscored that the injured herders were rushed to the regional hospital in Ouahigouya, for appropriate cares.
