TIRANA, Aug. 3 (Xinhua) -- The special court for corruption and organized crime (GJKKO) in Albania has accepted here on Tuesday the request of Special Structure of Anti-Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) to seize some 26 assets owned by TV station owner Ylli Ndroqi, who is suspected of being involved in criminal activities.

According to an official press release from SPAK, Ndroqi (known as Xhemail Pasmaciu), owner of Albanian Ora News TV Station is suspected of involvement in drug trafficking and criminal organization.

Properties and assets of Ndroqi and his family, SPAK declared, have an unjustified economic level, thus suspected they have been obtained as a result of his criminal activities in Albania, Turkey and Italy.

The investigation was conducted in cooperation with General Directory of Albanian State Police and Interpol, SPAK said.

As a result, SPAK has asked GJKKO to issue an order for the sequestration of 26 assets of Ndroqi, including land, vehicles, properties, shares in various companies.

The companies where he was shareholder or owner will continue their economic activities, including Ora News TV station, but they will be administered by the agency for administration of sequestrated assets, read the press release.

Meanwhile, in a statement for the local media, Ndroqi's lawyer declared that they will appeal against the decision of the court.

According to his lawyer, the property and assets owned by Ndroqi are from legal sources and Ndroqi believes that this is a political attack against him. Enditem
