Kyrgyzstan reports 412 new COVID-19 cases

BISHKEK, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Kyrgyzstan reported 412 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, raising the total diagnosed cases to 37,541.

Ainura Akmatova, the head of the public health care department of the country's Health Ministry, told a daily news briefing that 25 of the new cases are medical workers, bringing the total number of contracted medical workers to 2,854, including 1,894 recoveries.

She said 816 patients have recovered over the past day, bringing the total recoveries to 28,743.

The virus-related death tally climbed to 1,427, with seven more recorded in the previous 24 hours.

Currently, there are 7,382 cases in the country, all of whom are receiving treatment in hospital.

Kyrgyzstan recorded its first COVID-19 case on March 18 and the first death from the virus on April 2. Enditem
