BEIRUT, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Hundreds of Lebanese protesters gathered outside the energy ministry in capital Beirut to demonstrate against successive power cuts, the National News Agency reported.

Protesters attempted to break into the ministry which caused clashes with security forces. They also blocked the roads leading to the ministry by using trash bins.

They attributed excessive power cuts to money squandering and failing policies.

Lack of electricity in Lebanon has been a problem for years, as governments failed to build power stations to solve it. Enditem
