ISLAMABAD, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- A hand grenade attack at a rally on Wednesday evening in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi left five people injured, police and local media said.

Local police told media that unknown motorcyclists hurled a hand grenade at the rally near a mosque in Gulshan-e-Iqbal town of Karachi.

The rally was arranged to express solidarity with the people of Indian-controlled Kashmir.

Rescue teams, who were accompanying the rally, shifted the injured to a hospital where all of them were reportedly in stable condition.

Police and paramilitary forces cordoned off the site and stopped the rally to march ahead.

No group or individual has claimed the attack yet.
