CAIRO, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Egypt announced that two of its nationals were killed and a third was reported missing in the massive explosions that rocked the Lebanese capital Beirut, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

The ministry said the Egyptian embassy in Beirut was informed of the death of two Egyptians in the explosions and the disappearance of a third who was near the blast site.

Earlier on Wednesday, Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi ordered to send two planes carrying medical aid to help those wounded in Beirut, offering condolences to his Lebanese counterpart Michel Aoun over the victims.

The explosions that took place in Beirut's port area left about 100 people dead and more than 4,000 injured, according to the latest statement by the Lebanese Red Cross Secretary General George Katana. Enditem
