BEIRUT, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon's number of COVID-19 infections increased on Thursday by 255 cases to 5,672 while death toll went up by two to 70, the Health Ministry reported.
Lebanese hospitals are suffering from a big burden amid a daily increase in COVID-19 cases and receiving injuries and victims of the two explosions that rocked Port of Beirut two days ago.
Lebanon is currently receiving foreign donations to reinforce the capabilities of hospitals that are still operating following the explosions, noting that two renowned hospitals, El Roum Hospital and Geitawi Hospital, have stopped offering their services after being destroyed by the disaster on Tuesday.
Lebanon has been fighting against COVID-19 since Feb. 21.
The country has received several donations from different countries for the fight against COVID-19 including China which offered on June 11 around 17,500 masks, 1,500 protective gears, 1,320 goggles and 1,000 shoes covers to Lebanese public hospitals. Enditem
