KUNMING, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Police in southwest China's Yunnan Province recently busted a drug trafficking ring, capturing 12 suspects and seizing 150 kg of methamphetamine.
Border police in Baoshan City found the drugs hidden in 79 bags of frozen beef during a regular vehicle inspection at a border checkpoint on May 12, according to a statement released by the local police on Friday.
Following a lead, the police nabbed 12 people involved in the case in the cities of Ruili and Kunming in the province.
Further investigations are underway.
Yunnan is a major front in China's battle against drug crime since it borders the Golden Triangle, known for its rampant drug production and trafficking. Enditem
