German shares up 0.66 pct Friday

FRANKFURT, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark DAX index up 83.20 points, or 0.66 percent, to close at 12,674.88 points.

Telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 2.66 percent. Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies and sportswear and equipment maker Adidas rose by 2.44 percent and 2.09 percent respectively.

Global internet technology and financial services provider Wirecard lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 3.16 percent. Chemical and consumer goods company Henkel and automotive supplier Continental went down by 1.92 percent and 1.55 percent respectively.

Manufacturing and electronics company Siemens was the most-traded share with a turnover of 223.52 million euros (263 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, lost 0.49 percent to close at 0.81 euros per share. Enditem
