YANGON, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities seized a large haul of stimulants and raw opium in Shan state in a single day, according to a release from the Central Committee of Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) on Saturday.
A total of 6.4 million stimulant tablets worth 9.6 billion kyats (6.85 million U.S. dollars) were confiscated from a vehicle travelling in Tachileik township on Friday afternoon.
On the same day, 10 kilograms of raw opium were seized from a passenger bus travelling in Nawnghkio township.
A suspect from the passenger bus was charged while a case was filed to capture the suspect who fled the scene in Tachileik township under the country's Narcotic Drugs and Psychotrophic Substances Law. Enditem
