Vietnam reports 26 new COVID-19 cases, 810 in total

HANOI, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam reported a total of 26 new cases of COVID-19 infection on Saturday, bringing its total confirmed cases to 810 with 10 deaths from the disease so far, according to its Ministry of Health.

Three cases have recently entered Vietnam from abroad and were quarantined upon arrival while the rest were recorded domestically, said the ministry.

The new community cases included people reportedly in contact with COVID-19 patients, patients and patients' caregivers at local hospitals, and people recently visiting the central Da Nang city, which has seen a surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in the community.

As many as 395 cases have totally recovered as of Saturday while there are over 166,500 people being quarantined and monitored in the country, according to the ministry.

Following complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, part of a hospital in northern Hai Duong province has been quarantined while bars, karaoke services and crowded gatherings have been banned, according to a report by Vietnam News Agency. Enditem
