Russian trade surplus down 41.8 pct in H1

MOSCOW, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- Russia's trade surplus decreased by 41.8 percent year on year in the first half of 2020 to 54.1 billion U.S. dollars, the Federal Customs Service said Monday.

Russia's foreign trade amounted to 267.9 billion dollars, dropping by 16.9 percent from the same period last year, it said in a statement.

Exports in the first half of the year stood at 161 billion dollars, down 22.5 percent year on year. Fuel and energy products accounted for 54.9 percent of the total exports.

Imports from January to June amounted to 106.9 billion dollars, declining by 6.8 percent year on year. Enditem
