KIEV, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine and Moldova have agreed to strengthen bilateral defense cooperation following a telephone discussion between Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Taran and his Moldovan counterpart Alexandru Pinzari, the Ukrainian defense ministry's press service said Wednesday.
"During the talks, the heads of the defense departments discussed the development of regional security, (as well as) the importance of interaction with partners and international organizations, to ensure stability in southeastern Europe," the press service said in a statement.
In addition, the nations have agreed to strengthen military cooperation in such areas as joint participation in multinational exercises, the exchange of delegations between the military educational institutions of the two countries, and the exchange of experience on the implementation of NATO standards, according to the statement.
