RIYADH, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- A declaration of the eighth meeting of the Friends of Sudan stressed on Wednesday the importance and full support to the stability of Sudan.
Hosted by Saudi Arabia, the online meeting aimed to promote the peace and prosperity of Sudan.
The declaration reaffirmed full political support for Sudan's civilian-led transition from a group of governments and multilateral organizations, known as Friends of Sudan, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
It also reiterated support for the transitional government led by Sudanese Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok.
The group commended Hamdok's leadership in continuing to prioritize a comprehensive and inclusive peace, despite the challenges arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Established in 2018, the Friends of Sudan is composed of a number of countries and international organizations that support Sudan. Enditem
