JERUSALEM, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Israel has launched a plan to support industrial production of COVID-19 medical devices and equipment, the state's Ministry of Economy and Industry said on Sunday.

As part of the plan, the ministry's Authority for Investments will allocate 20 million new shekels (5.87 million U.S. dollars) for setting up the production lines to increase the supply of medical devices and other solutions that make it easier to deal with the pandemic.

The plan is intended for companies interested in establishing production lines in existing or new plants.

The plan will also provide support for new machinery and equipment, as well as adjustments in facilities that will be used to carry out the plan.

Israel's Minister of Economy Amir Peretz said that "at this time, we are doing everything we can to give industrial enterprises all the tools to continue their activities and even improve human and technological capital." Enditem
