BRASILIA, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- Brazil's Business Confidence Index (ICEI) rose this month in 28 of 30 industrial sectors, the National Industry Confederation (CNI) said on Wednesday.

In the manufacturing industry, the index reached 57.5 points in August, marking its fourth consecutive rise, and representing a cumulative increase of 23 points since it fell sharply in April.

Anything over the 50-point mark indicates that industrial entrepreneurs have regained confidence.

A breakdown by sector shows the ICEI in construction reached 54 points, rising 7.7 units compared to the previous month, while in mining it grew by 3.4 points to reach 57.2 points.

The confidence of the Brazilian industrial sector began to rise above 50 points in June, reflecting a growing and more generalized confidence on the part of business owners.

According to the CNI, the sectors with the most optimistic outlooks included non-metallic mineral products (63.3 points), rubber products (62.8 points) and plastic products (61.7 points). Enditem
