TEHRAN, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) -- Iran urged the international community to press Israel to join the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), Press TV reported on Friday.
"The international community must force Tel Aviv to join the NPT and allow the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to access its nuclear facilities," deputy representative of Iran to the United Nations was quoted as saying.
"The destructive role of the United States and Israel has prevented the realization of a Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Free Zone in the Middle East," Es'haq Al-e Habib said in an address to a virtual meeting on the anniversary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) on Thursday.
