Wang Jishi, 65, is a national first-class actor, who once served as the head of the Tianjin People's Art Theater. This year marks the 50th year of drama performance for Wang. Born to an ordinary family in Tianjin, Wang was picked out by some teachers of Tianjin People's Art Theater during a school performance, at the age of 15. He then started his drama career. Looking back on his 50 years of drama performance career, Wang said he had experienced life by doing jobs such as transplanting seedlings and coal stove worker to analyze drama characters and to get close to the soul of these drama characters. He also played as supporting roles for more than 20 years. "Drama is a reproduction of life, only carefully polished works can touch the audience," Wang said, "I am deeply in love with drama performance, which is the most precious treasure in my life."
