URUMQI, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- China's national basketball team player Yu Dehao has joined Xinjiang Flying Tigers, the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) side announced on Sunday.

Yu, 25, has agreed a one-year contract with Xinjiang, with the option of a one-year extension.

The former Shenzhen Aviators guard averaged 9.4 points and 3.3 assists in the 2018-19 CBA season, who chose not to play in the 2019-20 season due to personal reasons.

Yu's deal comes the same day while Taiwan guard Wu Yongsheng completed the move from Shanghai Sharks to Xinjiang.

Xinjiang bowed out from the semifinals last season due to frail backcourt rotation. Both Yu and Wu will be expected to provide leadership and make up Xinjiang's outside defense.

In addition, former Bayi center Liang Yingqi and Sichuan Blue Whales guard Wang Zhengbo have also signed contracts with Xinjiang. Enditem
